Data Governance Division

The Data Governance Division is dedicated to establishing and maintaining data standards, policies, and best practices to ensure the quality, consistency, and security of HUD's data assets. This division plays a critical role in the overall data management strategy of the Department, supporting various programs and initiatives with reliable and well-governed data.

At the heart of the Data Governance Division's mission is the creation of a robust data governance framework that encompasses data stewardship, data quality management, data privacy, and data security. The division collaborates with data stewards and stakeholders across HUD to develop policies and guidelines that promote the effective and ethical use of data.

The Data Governance Division focuses on several key areas:

• Data Standards: Developing and implementing robust data standards to ensure uniformity and compatibility across various systems and datasets within HUD.
• Data Quality: Establishing stringent processes and deploying advanced tools for monitoring and improving data quality, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
• Data Privacy: Coordinating with the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer to ensure strict adherence to federal regulations regarding data privacy and protecting personal information from unauthorized access and misuse.
• Data Security: Ensuring comprehensive data security measures to safeguard HUD's data assets against cyber threats and breaches, in partnership with the Office of the Chief Information Officer.
